Award-winning building shows its curves

AWS Eco Plastics’ Recycling Plant, Hemswell Cliff

Metsec has supplied approximately 40 tons of lightweight cold-roll formed steel purlins to help create the largest and most technologically advanced plastic bottle recycling facility in Europe.
The new £10m facility, at Hemswell Cliff in Lincolnshire, replaces AWS Eco Plastics’ bottle-sorting and storage facilities, which were destroyed by fire shortly after opening in August 2009.

Metsec purlins top Derbyshire’s new fire stations

Purlins and side rails from Metsec plc are playing a key role in the modernisation of facilities for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service (DFRS). Metsec’s light gauge galvanised steel Z and C sections fixed to the hot rolled steel frame support wall and roof cladding of the new fire station at Chesterfield, while Z section purlins support the roof at Ilkeston’s new station. Metsec’s Purlin Division is the UK’s largest designer and manufacturer of light gauge purlins, side rails and mezzanine floor sections for use in many industrial, commercial and public sector applications.
